Sue's Star of Christmas 2020 is...
Roland... he is the reason our streets and parks are always clean.
Roland can be found with his trolley and brooms cleaning up the litter that so many leave behind.
Nothing is too much trouble for Roland. He always has a smile on his face and is always willing to pick up extra rubbish or broken glass if asked to and go that extra mile.
He takes a pride in his work as he really wants to keep Billingshurst a clean and pleasant place for everyone who lives here.
Roland takes a pride in his work and wherever he is found to be sweeping and picking up litter in the village he does it with pride knowing that he is making the village we live in a cleaner and pleasant place to be for everyone.
We would like to thank you Roland for all the hard work that you do and the attention you give the streets, especially Station road gardens where many of us walk everyday with our dogs.
Frequently on a Monday morning the park looks as though a bomb has hit it but Roland will come in and clear it efficiently and once again it is free of litter .......for a short while.
So Roland, let it be known how much we appreciate you and the job that you do keeping our village clean and a place that we all value having in these very strange and difficult times.
It matters so much especially during these covid days that we have a village and parks that are clean and looked after for is all to relax in.
