An Angel or a Star of Christmas?

"This news is so good I feel like singing as loud as I can to the whole world at the top of my voice! Bringing messages from Father God to his world is one of my most important jobs and I love my job! This has got to be the best “good news” I’ve ever had to share from him. I’m going to read it again for myself because it makes my heart fill with a good feeling and brings a huge smile to my angel face! 

This rescue plan of Father God started ages ago. The first I knew of his plan was when he asked me to visit young Mary. It’s funny but whenever I visit humans I need to start by telling them not to worry. Everything will be alright because of Father God. 

Mary had an amazing job to do for Father God. I had to ask her if she would be the Mum for baby Jesus and love him all his life. She said yes and I think that was very brave of her.

This is the next part of that plan of God’s. Mary has had her baby and he is safe with her and Joseph in that stable in Bethlehem. Now it’s time to announce the good news that Father God has sent a rescuer, a saviour to his world.

Father God has asked me to start off by visiting those mischievous shepherds. Wonder what they will think of me arriving out of the night sky? They certainly won’t be expecting a visit from Angels! I’m guessing that might make them jump! It seems a funny place to start sharing this amazing news but Father God always knows what he is doing. I’d have expected to visit a king or queen but working shepherds is where I’ve been sent. I’ve learnt following Father God is always best however puzzling it seems.

I still can’t stop feeling like jumping for joy when I read this message I’ve got to bring to the shepherds and the whole wide world. This is definitely a starring role!!It’s such a wonderful message. I’d better find all the angels who can sing beautifully so this message will be remembered for thousands of years. It will be more important than all the chart- topping songs those humans like to hum along to.

Time to go, and I can’t wait to sing out this good news. What will this world do with such good news?"

Billingshurst Primary School staff are Stars of Christmas 2020!

After what has been a very difficult year for everyone, we think Billingshurst Primary School staff (and children) are stars! The school has needed to find new ways of running to keep staff, children and the community safe this year. They've had to adapt to remote learning, as well as changing the way they teach in class. They've had to be creative and flexible to ensure every child has the best opportunity to learn and feel safe. On top of all this they are having to deal with the emotional and mental impact 2020 has had on the children (as well as the staff and families). Every single staff member has worked tirelessly, and in very challenging circumstances, to make the experience at school as normal as possible for all the children. Both the staff and children have all shown such resilience and dedication this year. …the children at St. Mary’s Church! Through the long months of lockdown and beyond, their response to the Explorers videos has been a constant source of encouragement and hope to me. Text messages, pictures of artwork and video clips have come rolling into the Vicarage hub, demonstrating time and again that children often have the most profound insights into the ways of God and that we as adults have a lot to learn from them.
