Our second week has been full of adventures! (5 Photos)

After helping Carolyn raise £590.74 for the children of Omepete Island we headed up to the Billingshurst Community Conference Centre, where we joined Billingshurst Family Church, and Rainbow Toddlers, before enjoying a yummy Christmas Dinner.

We then went our separate ways and were transported to our next hosts.

The Posada Family had a lovely time with Tristan, Ethan and Ruby, and even went to Dauxwood Pre-school on Tuesday. After a night with Eli and Freya, they were delighted to visit Spain Class. Unfortunately their donkey was taken ill, so Oliver stepped in and helped them get to Messy Church. Thanks Oliver!
 

They had so much fun at Messy Church that they wanted to stay and snuck home with Joanna. Whoops! Fortunately she spotted them and helped them find their way to Edward. Penny then took them to school with her where they visited Ireland Class, before going home with Mrs Pullen. 

The Wise Men wanted to visit a family too - but had a job to do. They have spent this week at Mansell McTaggart, 

and then at the library where they were joined by Posada 2.

They have had a wonderful time reading through all the books, and sharing stories with the adults and children. They loved the stories by torchlight too!

At the end of a busy week they spotted a huge star and decided to follow it!
They saw the Posada Family travelling along with Oliver, and lots of beautiful lanterns too. Did you spot them?

Billingshurst Primary School staff are Stars of Christmas 2020!

After what has been a very difficult year for everyone, we think Billingshurst Primary School staff (and children) are stars! The school has needed to find new ways of running to keep staff, children and the community safe this year. They've had to adapt to remote learning, as well as changing the way they teach in class. They've had to be creative and flexible to ensure every child has the best opportunity to learn and feel safe. On top of all this they are having to deal with the emotional and mental impact 2020 has had on the children (as well as the staff and families). Every single staff member has worked tirelessly, and in very challenging circumstances, to make the experience at school as normal as possible for all the children. Both the staff and children have all shown such resilience and dedication this year. Vicar David's Stars of Christmas 2020 are ...

…the children at St. Mary’s Church! Through the long months of lockdown and beyond, their response to the Explorers videos has been a constant source of encouragement and hope to me. Text messages, pictures of artwork and video clips have come rolling into the Vicarage hub, demonstrating time and again that children often have the most profound insights into the ways of God and that we as adults have a lot to learn from them.
