Our first week of adventures!

What a week we've had!

After the Christingle, we started with a night with the Foulsham Family, assisted on our journey by the lovely Rosie.
Next: a day at Wakoos. After lots of fun with the nursery children (and a failed trip to our next venue) we managed to pop along to the afterschool club where we helped Ofsted check out the provision. - We think it is fab!
The Children and Families Centre stepped in to offer us accommodation for the night, and we enjoyed playing with the children before Little Movers!
Penny and Edward took us home with them and we were back on track!
Thursday we popped to Toddler church lunch. We just missed seeing our cousins who were helping Joanna tell the story this week. After some special prayers to help us on our journey, we spent an afternoon at Sue's house, before heading off to home group!
Friday morning was the Preschools' Christmas service - very wet, windy and cold so only a few braved coming out. We had lots of fun and enjoyed the songs! We found a nice cosy stable, and met our cousins!
After all this we needed a break - so off to Whispers for a treat!

Billingshurst Primary School staff are Stars of Christmas 2020!

After what has been a very difficult year for everyone, we think Billingshurst Primary School staff (and children) are stars! The school has needed to find new ways of running to keep staff, children and the community safe this year. They've had to adapt to remote learning, as well as changing the way they teach in class. They've had to be creative and flexible to ensure every child has the best opportunity to learn and feel safe. On top of all this they are having to deal with the emotional and mental impact 2020 has had on the children (as well as the staff and families). Every single staff member has worked tirelessly, and in very challenging circumstances, to make the experience at school as normal as possible for all the children. Both the staff and children have all shown such resilience and dedication this year. Vicar David's Stars of Christmas 2020 are ...

…the children at St. Mary’s Church! Through the long months of lockdown and beyond, their response to the Explorers videos has been a constant source of encouragement and hope to me. Text messages, pictures of artwork and video clips have come rolling into the Vicarage hub, demonstrating time and again that children often have the most profound insights into the ways of God and that we as adults have a lot to learn from them.
