Epiphany Gifts



This week we helped the 'Toddlers in Church' to recap the Nativity story, follow the star and kneel at Jesus' crib. We explained why we give gifts at Christmas. (Just like the Magi gave gifts to baby Jesus, and just like God gave us the best gift ever - Jesus!)

You can find 'Toddlers in Church' from 12:15 each Thursday during term times. Toddlers, babies and their parents/ grandparents/ carers are all welcome for a Bible story, action songs and instruments all followed by lunch. You can find out more here.

We also delivered a gift to each family as they had hosted the Posada Family. Thank you. (There are a few more parcels which will be delivered shortly.)

Now we are ready for a nice long rest!

Billingshurst Primary School staff are Stars of Christmas 2020!

After what has been a very difficult year for everyone, we think Billingshurst Primary School staff (and children) are stars! The school has needed to find new ways of running to keep staff, children and the community safe this year. They've had to adapt to remote learning, as well as changing the way they teach in class. They've had to be creative and flexible to ensure every child has the best opportunity to learn and feel safe. On top of all this they are having to deal with the emotional and mental impact 2020 has had on the children (as well as the staff and families). Every single staff member has worked tirelessly, and in very challenging circumstances, to make the experience at school as normal as possible for all the children. Both the staff and children have all shown such resilience and dedication this year. Vicar David's Stars of Christmas 2020 are ...

…the children at St. Mary’s Church! Through the long months of lockdown and beyond, their response to the Explorers videos has been a constant source of encouragement and hope to me. Text messages, pictures of artwork and video clips have come rolling into the Vicarage hub, demonstrating time and again that children often have the most profound insights into the ways of God and that we as adults have a lot to learn from them.
