Will you please let us stay with you?

We still need a few families to host this year - we've had lots of invitations for fun events, but we need a place to rest inbetween. Can you help?

What do hosts do?
  • Find somewhere to set up the Posada Family, where it can be seen by as many people as possible. (This could be at home or in your workplace.)
  • You may wish to invite friends and family round to “meet your guests” and share the Christmas story or a celebration together.
  • If you have children, you might like to read the Christmas Story book together. They could use the knitted figures to act out the story too.
  • For those who are older, you might like to read the Christmas story in Luke’s Gospel.
  • These are only suggestions, but we hope you will feel free to use the Posada in a way that fits in most comfortably with your family or workplace. Enjoy having this lovely Posada Family with you!
  • Please take a picture of the Posada Family where you’ve placed it, or during their stay with you. If you like, include yourselves – but please note, all images may be published on the internet – so check everyone is happy for this to happen. (Please get parental permission to include anyone under 18.)
  • Email your photos along with a brief summary (from Mary and Joseph?) about what the Posada Family has been up to – where they’ve been and what happened etc.
  • Please check the Posada is complete before passing it to the next host.

Billingshurst Primary School staff are Stars of Christmas 2020!

After what has been a very difficult year for everyone, we think Billingshurst Primary School staff (and children) are stars! The school has needed to find new ways of running to keep staff, children and the community safe this year. They've had to adapt to remote learning, as well as changing the way they teach in class. They've had to be creative and flexible to ensure every child has the best opportunity to learn and feel safe. On top of all this they are having to deal with the emotional and mental impact 2020 has had on the children (as well as the staff and families). Every single staff member has worked tirelessly, and in very challenging circumstances, to make the experience at school as normal as possible for all the children. Both the staff and children have all shown such resilience and dedication this year. Vicar David's Stars of Christmas 2020 are ...

…the children at St. Mary’s Church! Through the long months of lockdown and beyond, their response to the Explorers videos has been a constant source of encouragement and hope to me. Text messages, pictures of artwork and video clips have come rolling into the Vicarage hub, demonstrating time and again that children often have the most profound insights into the ways of God and that we as adults have a lot to learn from them.
