Not just for Christmas! Join our Lent Cross Challenge:


Thank you for making space for Jesus this Christmas and following our Posada journey. But Christ is not just for Christmas!

We want to help you keep the cross at the heart of Easter this year so are inviting you to join our Lent Cross Challenge.

The Challenge: Find, identify, make, bake, discover or create 40 different crosses and share them (on your social media) during the 40 days of Lent.


Sign up to our Lent Cross Challenge here and we'll send you the Easter Story in 40 sentences, one for each day of Lent. You can use these to share the Easter story alongside your images, each day on your social media, or in other ways.

Let us know how you get on and send us your most creative, unusual, and interesting crosses for our gallery too. Email us lentcrosschallenge@stmarysbillingshurst.org

Billingshurst Primary School staff are Stars of Christmas 2020!

After what has been a very difficult year for everyone, we think Billingshurst Primary School staff (and children) are stars! The school has needed to find new ways of running to keep staff, children and the community safe this year. They've had to adapt to remote learning, as well as changing the way they teach in class. They've had to be creative and flexible to ensure every child has the best opportunity to learn and feel safe. On top of all this they are having to deal with the emotional and mental impact 2020 has had on the children (as well as the staff and families). Every single staff member has worked tirelessly, and in very challenging circumstances, to make the experience at school as normal as possible for all the children. Both the staff and children have all shown such resilience and dedication this year. Vicar David's Stars of Christmas 2020 are ...

…the children at St. Mary’s Church! Through the long months of lockdown and beyond, their response to the Explorers videos has been a constant source of encouragement and hope to me. Text messages, pictures of artwork and video clips have come rolling into the Vicarage hub, demonstrating time and again that children often have the most profound insights into the ways of God and that we as adults have a lot to learn from them.
